I am almost 100% finished with my next-to-last semester of college!
All I have left to do is to write some short little report thing, turn that in….and then I’ll be done!
I can’t believe it, but I only have 1 semester left…it seems like last week that I was a new freshman. Did I ever tell you about how much I hated college at first? No?
Well, to start off with, I still lived in student housing then, and I had a CRAZY roommate….I only lived with her for FOUR days if that tells you anything. Which, it should, because I am so laid back that I am practically horizontal, and not a whole lot gets to me or even ruffles my feathers a little. This chick and I actually got along during daylight hours…then…at night….well, at night was a different story. This girl was totally codependent on her boyfriend, who, for some reason, was incapable of calling at anytime other than 2:00 a.m…..
Not on her cell phone.
On the room phone.
Which rings VERY loudly.
She didn’t have a cell phone. She didn’t have a computer. She didn’t take advantage of the 1 trillion free computer labs on campus…she thought she should use my computer. She thought she should wake me up at 4:00 a.m. to ask if she could use my computer.
Now, as much as I want to get along with everyone, and for the most part, I do, I don’t love anyone if I haven’t had enough sleep. I have a special kind of white-hot hatred for people that disturb me when I’m sleeping. Which, by the way, is VERY hard to do…I am a REALLY deep sleeper. I even slept through an EARTHQUAKE once, for crying out loud!
Anyway, I went to the res life office and basically told them that either they moved me or I would be leaving. They were totally wonderful about it and I moved in with one of the nicest people I have ever met, my roommate L. We had a lot of fun together.
Wow, this post got really off track, but anyway, I hated it at first, and now…well…I’m kind of going to miss it.
Not the “go to class, bend over backwards to please professors on an ego trip” part, but I am going to miss my friends like CRAZY. I really do have some wonderful friends that I’ve found along the way.
But back to my freedom-today I’m going to celebrate my freedom by watching “Frasier” on the couch, snuggled up with Miss MJ….then I’m going to mosey into the kitchen and make myself some breakfast. I will try my hardest not to set fire to anything, but that might be a promise I can’t keep. Then I’m going to run some errands and go Christmas shopping!!
Ahh..spending money…my favorite pastime…
