Ahem.
It appears my earlier post may have been a bit premature.
Ladies and gentleman, we have snow!
Not so much on the grass, but the road and sidewalks are completely covered. The rooftops would be too if the wind would quit blowing the snow off.
D and I took Mayzie-Jane and Sabrina for a LOOOOONG (1 hour +) walk in the snow. Then we went back in. MJ wanted to go back out in it so we took another little walk while D ran some errands. The main roads are driveable, but the side streets (ie, where everyone’s homes are) are AWFUL. My parents have about a 30 min commute home from work, so I hope that everything goes ok for them. Luckily though, D has a truck with 4 wheel drive, so if anyone gets stuck, he can get them out.
I was really pleased with my “snow outfit”….I had on two pairs of socks, ugg boots, leggings, jeans, a long-sleeved thermal shirt, a short sleeved shirt over that, a fleece hoodie, my down parka, a scarf, shearling and leather gloves ,and a ski hat. Whew! That is a lot of clothes!
And D? D wore 1 pair of socks, boots, jeans, a tshirt, his coat, and a baseball hat. No gloves. D’s snow outfit fails. It is COLD. I’m surprised his fingers didn’t fall off or something.
The girls? Well, Sabrina went out au naturel, as did Mayzie-Jane the first time. Then she got cold, so I put a sweater on her….I dug out an old sweater from my skinny days (112 lbs…the only time I will ever see that number in my vital statistics again is in my blood pressure),snipped off the sleeves, and put it on her. She loved it. Honestly, she did, she tried to get away from me when I tried to take it if off of her. She looked so cute!
I think we might go for another snow walk later!
