Spring is Here

by Rachel on March 10, 2010

We’ve had nice warm weather over the past few days, which has been really, really nice. D and I spent Monday out by the lake, which was lots of fun. He fished and I read a book.
But the warm weather isn’t how I know spring is here.
I know spring is here because I wake up with a stuffy nose and sore throat every morning. Yep, spring has sprung. I’m already on enough allergy medicine to sedate a horse, so I guess I just have to deal for the next few weeks. I made an appointment with an allergist at my ENT’s suggestion, so maybe that will give some answers. I’d love to not have to inhale steroids and pop pills for the rest of my life. (Seriously though, other than for allergies and seasonal respiratory crud, I am an extremely healthy person, so I don’t have much to complain about.)
I’m also on spring break this week, I really haven’t done much of anything, except laze around outside (and inside). I did tell my parents that I would help them tear down the wall paper in their kitchen….not because I am a good daughter, but because I hate that wallpaper and enjoy maiming it. It is SO not my parents’ taste, it was there when they bought the house. It has a cheery border with houses and says “the heart of a home is love”. Barf. If that wasn’t bad enough it is PINK and GREEN. Double barf! The tear down has been put on hold though, because I might have accidentally ripped off the drywall paper in a spot. Or two. Whoops. Oh well, I think we will get some different stuff and see how that goes.
So, I’m off to go enjoy the nice weather. Hope spring is there in your neck of the woods!
