About

My name is Rachel.  I started this blog in 2008 because I needed a place to write about things like accidentally dyeing an entire load of laundry red. I would love nothing more than to be a domestic diva, but sadly, that is not meant to be. I can cook like it ain’t nobody’s business but I can’t iron worth crap (I, without fail, iron more wrinkles into things than I take out).  I rarely make the bed. People who iron sheets scare me.  Don’t worry though, I’m kind of a germaphobe so my bathroom is pretty clean and my dishes are sterile enough for an operating room.

I have a wonderful fiance who I refer to as D on this blog. He’s my biggest fan. We’ve been together for over three years now and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  He thinks I’m funny when I’m mad and often diffuses arguments by randomly saying things like “Cats like cheese?”. If you think that sounds strange, try it sometime, it’s hard to be mad at somebody who just asked you if cats like cheese. We don’t argue much though, we’d rather spend our time sitting outside with one another or walking our dogs together. We are planning a wedding for sometime in 2011.

I’m Tennessee born and bred, which means that I have a really bad southern accent, which I kind of love. I’d love to be Dolly Parton when I grow up.  Being southern gives me license to say things like “bless your little heart, you conniving skank.”

I graduated from college in 2010.  I haven’t found a job yet.  I’m planning on going back to graduate school, but don’t know the exact details yet.

I really love animals. All of then (even creepy-crawlies), but especially dogs. I have a seven year old dog who is my pride and joy. She’s wicked smart.

I have a really terrific family and group of friends, I heard somewhere once that “friends are the family you choose” and I could not agree more.

All in all, I have a pretty terrific life.  I wouldn’t change one thing about it.

I’m going to school in a small town in Tennessee, so I’m curious as to where you live.

I live in a city off I-40 with a GIGANTIC white cross right off the freeway. Even if you don’t live here, if you’ve driven through, you may have seen it. ;)
